Our family and close friends helped us celebrate. It was simple and relaxing. The theme was Kermit the Frog. This only seemed fitting, considering his middle name is Kerm. He is named after my grandpa, (mom's dad). My grandma told me she knows he was with us as we celebrated. I love that I was able to give Corbin such a special name. Kyle and Tate were able to come which made it complete. Every time one of my boys turns one, something happens. Cayden- my mom got in a car accident on the way home from running an errand, Daylen- outside cowboy party, which included bounce house and petting zoo. It was moved inside do to rain and practically snow. Corbin- got sick in the middle of the night. He seemed perfectly well after so we continued with the plans. Since then- Kyle, Tate, and Cayden have all gotten it. It's so sad when the kids get that kind of sickness, their little bodies heave. Cayden had picture day today so he is missing those :( He seems to be getting better though. Kyle and Tate are at home with their mom today, so I am getting updates. Kyle was supposed to have his first 7th grade football game tonight, but since he stayed home from school he won't be participating. He is a little upset.

The week of Corbin's birthday

This week has been quite the busy one even with one day off from school/ work. Tuesday we went to meet Daylen and Corbin's teachers at mother's day out. Daylen was a little hesitant. He thought I was going to leave him. He did say bye to his teachers though. It was either because he was ready to get out of there or he was really trying to be nice. Cayden had his second soccer practice last night. His papa, my dad, took him . He said Cayden hustled and has improved a bunch. They also handed out jerseys. The team name is Blue Sharks and he picked number 10 for his birthday. He keeps asking when a real game is. His first game is this Saturday. I am so excited to see him play on a bigger field and with 5 players on the field. The game is becoming more real. YAY! Phillip and I took Daylen and Corbin to Kyle's meet the teacher night at his school. It was fun to see Kyle and Tate and hang out at the school. Kyle found out yesterday he made the B team for football. He will be playing linebacker and guard. He is really excited about playing linebacker. Corbin had a 'cake smash' today. This is when you put a cake in front of the child and let them go at it. It was fun! I love Haley, she always does such a great job. The cake was Kermit. It was perfect!! Corbin's first birthday is Saturday. We are having a Kermit the Frog themed party. It only seemed fitting ;) I am so sad at how fast this past year has gone by so quickly. I love all my boys but I wish they would just slow down. Tomorrow I get to volunteer for Kyle's theatre class by selling tickets during lunch. I am so glad I have the opportunity to see the boys at school functions. Tate will also start soccer this Saturday as well. I am hoping their mom will let them come to Corbin's birthday party. It stinks we don't get them when we want them. They should be here. It's only right. Anyways :) I get so stressed sometimes with all the chaos, but when I have a moment to think about it, I wouldn't change it for the world.

ROUTINE, ROUTINE, ROUTINE... Thank goodness! I am all about routine and we are finally about to get back to one. Cayden had a good first day in first grade. I am excited for him to really learn how to read this year. He knows the basics but this year reading is the MAIN GOAL! Tonight he starts back to soccer. He is on the same team as last season, Blue Thunder. He really enjoys playing soccer so I am glad he will have a positive way to start exercising that energy out of his system ;) It's so hot though! I am ready for this weather to start cooling down. The kids and I were drenched in the five minute walk back to our house from Cayden's school yesterday. MISERABLE! Daylen and Corbin will start MDO in about two weeks. I am nervous about Daylen's behavior through the transition. I know he'll do fine, I am more worried about his teachers. Corbin has no problem being taken by someone else. He is more like Cayden in that aspect. Corbin is about to one year old! He is already taking his first steps. We are all so proud of him. The time goes by so fast. Kyle started 7th grade. He also started football practice, which starts at 6:30 AM!!! Kyle tends to sleep till at least noon most days, so I am sure it was very tough for him to get his booty out of bed. Tate has the teacher he wanted, Mr. Jensen. This is his last year at Bledsoe. Tate also started fall soccer. He has been with his team, Dolphins, since they first formed. The team now has 15 players. This will be their first REAL year of play, 11 players on the field. Phillip and I are doing well. We are currently trying to find a church closer to home. We want the boys to be closer to the people they meet at church so they can be involved with the youth group. I am currently trying to find a way to spread my business. I am really wanting to branch outside our home and paint other people's houses. I really only feel comfortable doing kids rooms because that's all I've done at our own house. But that doesn't mean I can't do other rooms ;) Phillip still has his practice in East Plano. We are in hopes of selling it so eventually we can open a new practice in a more newly developed area. It seems every way you turn there is a dentist. Very frustrating at times, but God has a plan. We just have to learn to trust him!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://thejohnsonsixfornow.blogspot.com/2011/08/routine-routine-routine-routine.html' title='ROUTINE, ROUTINE, ROUTINE... Its only 3 hrs away which is not a far enough drive to get out of the heat. I knew this, but still hoped. We only stayed 2 nights. We had planned to stay longer, but with the heat there just wasn't enough to keep the boys occupied. We did go to Arbuckle Wilderness on the way up and Turner Falls on the way back. Those were fun! Saturday we were scheduled to have family pics taken... Then mother nature decided that was the day she wanted to end the drought. Pics canceled! Luckily Miss Haley B took them the following morning, and I LOVE THEM! She always does such a good job. We are less than a week away from school starting. I hate to say it, but I am ready for them to go back. I love them but their energy around the house is getting to be a bit much. This Friday will be Kyle's 13 birthday. We are excited. He acts too 'cool' to care. "It's just another birthday," he says. I didn't think that phrase came so early. I guess this comes with being a teenager :) I've decided since I haven't been around Kyle and Tate from day 1 I am going to write a letter to each boy on their 13th birthday. I think its a big deal to become a 'teenager.' When I was in middle school I struggled with being accepting of the person I was. I was easily influenced by what people thought of me. My one wish for each of my kids is to be confident with who they are. It doesn't matter what the people in your life at this moment think. I am hoping the boys will appreciate the letter and maybe give some kind of guidance if they ever need it. I can't believe that I am a parent to this many boys, much less a teenager.

Summer 2011

<img style="display:block; I always look forward to summer because I hope to finally get some things accomplished, but it always seems we are much BUSIER.

Corbin is less than two months away from turning 1!! Oh my goodness. My last post was about Daylen turning 1. Corbin is the happiest baby. He is very easy going and nothing seems to bother him. He is a very BIG boy. He does not miss a meal :) He has tried a few times to stand on his own here and there. Every time he does accomplish the goal he gets so excited and proud of himself he can't seem to do it again. The first three months of Corbin's life were very hard. He cried all the time, the doctor told me he was putting off enough weight, and some other petty stuff. Look at him now, happy and weighing almost 30 lbs.

Daylen is close to being 2 1/2. Last week we entered the world of potty training. After a tough week, mommy decided it was better to quit then to have a resentful relationship for both of us. I don't think he is quite ready. He is a very stubborn persistent little boy. I am going to still talk about it and hope that he will one day make it his idea. Daylen has just started to call me 'mama' rather than just point at me. He said everyone else's name before mine, he even called my mother, mom! He can be a little toot but I love him dearly. His kick this week has been, mama cow! mama drink! mama mama mama... He will start Mother's Day Out in the fall with Corbin. We go once a month to a summer program and he does not handle drop off very well. I know in my heart it will get better. I do not feel bad for Daylen, I feel bad for the teachers who have to listen to his piercing scream.

Cayden will be entering the first grade pretty soon. Its just another reminder he is only getting older :( He is such a good kid. I am so proud of the person he is molding into. I will take all the credit for it too, thank you. I am kidding. Everyone who is a part of his life has helped shape him into a young man. His new passion, as some of you might have seen on facebook is armpit farting. We went our to ear today and saw a girl from his kindergarten class. I let him go say hi. I watched hoping a hug or a small wave, but NO! He pulled his shirt up, placed his hand under the pit and showed off his new trick. I will remember that moment forever!

Tate is entering his last year in elementary school. He will also start playing baseball this fall. He hasn’t played since he t-ball so we are looking forward to it. He will also continue playing soccer. Both boys are out of town this week with their mother’s parents. We redecorated their bedroom as surprise when they return. It is more ‘grown up.’ I am hoping to get a good reaction!

Kyle will be turning 13! I am a parent to a TEENAGER, WHAT?!?! I can't believe it. He is entering the 7th grade, a true junior high student. He is returning to football this fall. He had conditioning at the beginning of summer. He also wants to do basketball in the winter. Kyle tried out for a theatre class in the spring. Only 13 7th graders were allowed to make it and he is one of them.

Well my weekly blogs have failed again. I just never think I have enough to write about. Anyways... Daylen will be turning one this Thursday. We are having his first birthday party this Saturday the 20th, the same day as my dad's birthday. It is going to be at a horse park. We did a cowboy theme (obviously). There will be a petting zoo for everyone and a bounce house for the older kids. We are so excited but can't believe how fast it went by. Daylen took about 5 steps yesterday. Cayden was telling us this full blown story and Phillip and I were very into the story. All of a sudden here comes Daylen walking up to Cayden. Cayden stopped and we all looked at Daylen and started laughing and clapping. Cayden thought it was the funniest thing ever, he was yelling, " WHOA!!! DAYLEN IS WALKING!!!" Daylen won't do anything on your time. He will do it when he is ready and when he wants to. Its so funny how Daylen and Cayden are so different. I am curious to find out how this next one will be. Another first Daylen had this past week was his first haircut. He did great until those trimmers came out. He looks like such a little boy now.

The boys all have spring break this week. Kyle and Tate will be with us for the entire week which means I am off of work. I don't have too much planned because its hard pleasing all 4. We are at least going to the zoo one day. Phillip still has to work all week except Thursday. He has decided to take Kyle, Tate, and Cayden camping one night. They are very excited about that. It will be good for them to be with their dad and do father son things.

I am 13 weeks pregnant. I usually get real bad acid reflux later into the pregnancy, but this time around I have already started experiencing it. Phillip also pointed out I am already walking like I am pregnant. I am glad I can count on him to point those loving traits out :) We have names picked out for both a boy and a girl. We are hoping for a girl, but more importantly we are hoping for a healthy baby. We are currently discussing whether or not we are going to disclose the gender of the baby to anyone.

I am counting down the days for when we leave for Arizona to celebrate my Grandma's 80th birthday. I am more than excited to see all of my family. I love and cherish the time we get to spend together because we can't do it quite often. Until next time... The almost Johnson Seven!

Last Thursday the news was confirmed... We are expecting another child due September 18, 2010. Of course you can all imagine what we are hoping for, but even more important than that we are hoping for a healthy baby. Thank goodness! I love the holidays but geez they can get a little crazy. We are coming up on Tate's 9th birthday on the 30th of January. We are going to be having a sleepover for him and some of his friends. This should be interesting. Daylen has just turned 10 months old and I am already planning for his first birthday. Where has the time gone? The last month or so has been a little tough. Daylen got his first two bottom teeth at nine months and had an ear infection so he wasn't the happiest. His top two teeth are now coming in this month and we are experiencing the same unhappy little monster :) I hope all his teeth would just come in all at once so we could get the ear infections and drainage out the window. I just signed Cayden up for his first season of t-ball which will start in May. He will playing soccer as well. He is growing up fast and can't wait to start new things so he can make new friends. I am not sure what Tate has planned for the Spring yet. He is finishing up his Winter season of indoor soccer. Kyle will be playing flag football this spring. Phillip, Cayden, Daylen, and I along with my family will be traveling to Arizona to celebrate my Grandma's 80th birthday April 1st. We are so thrilled we get to see everyone. We are even more excited to share such a big birthday with my Grandma. I am already busy planning the summer. This will be Cayden's first year to not be in a school that is in session throughout the summer so I am unsure of how we are going to handle it. We are also looking forward to our family vacation the first week of June with Phillip's family. We are going to a ranch right outside of Fort Worth. The kids will have so much fun spending time with their cousins. We are so grateful for having such amazing families. We enjoy being able to have the chance to spend time with everyone and wish we could do it more often. Since the holidays have died down I will do my best trying to post one of these on a weekly basis. Til next time... I thought having a blog would be easy to keep up with. I was obviously wrong. Let's see, since the last time I blogged we have had Halloween, Cayden's birthday, Phillip's birthday, Thanksgiving, and Kyle's football team won their third championship. Kyle just read the first blog and asked me to update it so everyone would know.

Halloween- Daylen dressed up as spider for his first Halloween, Cayden was a bumblebee transformer, Tate was a soccer player, and Kyle was a football player. My sister Valerie and Steve were kind enough to bless us with their presence. Valerie was Little Red Riding Hood, and Steve was the Big Bad Wolf-dressed as Grandma.

Championship game- Kyle and his team won 22-0. Wow! Kyle is contemplating whether or not he wants to play next season. He would like to have a year off before playing for the middle school. Some of the coaches have asked Phillip to come back to coach, Kyle said he would play if he coached. I think it would be good for both of them, this is also the last year Phillip would be able to coach Kyle in anything.

Tate and Cayden both finished playing soccer for the Fall season. Cayden will continue in the Spring. Tate is playing indoor soccer during the Winter.

Cayden turned 5 November 10th. Oh my how the time has flown by. His present was a golden retriever puppy. He named her Pringle. She is such a wonderful dog and we all love her so much including Phoenix. We had a bug themed party for him. A man came with a bunch of different creatures. The kids enjoyed the snakes, spiders, and birds. There were so many more, but too much to list. They were allowed to touch and explore the different creatures. Phillip also celebrated a birthday. I won't list the age out of respect for him ;)

We were so blessed to be able to have the boys (Kyle and Tate) the whole week of Thanksgiving this year. Our home feels so complete when they are here full time. We spent Thanksgiving with both of our extended families. Phillip's brother, Jonathan and his family stayed the weekend. The kids and adults both had fun spending time together.

Phillip is taking Kyle skiing tomorrow through next Tuesday. He plans to take each boy on a trip with just the two of them when they turn 11 or 10. It's good for them to be able to spend some quality time together. I will have Tate, Cayden, and Daylen for the weekend. Next week is a busy week for us. We will be with family which is always fun. These are the times memories are created, and we all should acknowledge our blessings.

Daylen will be 9 months old tomorrow. He is such a happy baby and we all love him so much. He is all over the place. He just got his first tooth and that was a tough few days for him, mommy, and daddy. This will be his first Christmas and it is so exciting.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday. I wish we could be with those who are far away. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone!

I decided to have a blog about our family so everyone who wonders can keep up. I always wonder about my extended family members and try to keep updated, but our lives get so busy sometimes its just not possible. As of right now our family is full of boys, boys, boys, and boys. Our Saturdays are filled with football and soccer. Kyle (11), our oldest is playing football for the city. His team is the Buccaneers. They have been the champions 2 times and are on their way for number 3. They are undefeated. Kyle plays on the offense. Tate (8), is playing soccer. He plays for the Dolphins. This year is their first year to have a goalie. Tate plays defense. He has improved very much and enjoys the position he plays. Cayden (almost 5), plays soccer as well. Phillip is the head coach of his team, Blaze. This is Cayden's second season and enjoys it much more this time around. Its so fun to watch how not only him but his whole team make such improvement. Daylen (7 months), is crawling all over the place. He is a very happy baby. Although he is only seven months he is in 12-18 months clothes. Needless to say he is a big boy. Everyone loves him and can't get enough of him. Phillip still has his office in North Plano. The office has not been as busy these last few months but I guess that goes hand in hand with the way the economy is going. We have a few thoughts about what we might do in the next few years but nothing is concrete yet. I am still working with him there. I work Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I have also started back at school a little. I am taking online courses so I can be at home. Other than that we are bracing ourselves for the holiday season which is quickly approaching.
